My MIL keeps saying avoid rice at night during pregnancy, but rice is our staple and I cant imagine skipping it. Im in my 5th month and honestly chawal makes me feel full and happy. Is there really anything to worry about?
We eat rice every single day so of course it is safe, I had it all through. My amma made sure it was paired with dal and veggies. My doctor only said watch the portion, nothing more.
Rice is filling and cheap, it was my staple the whole pregnancy. I just made sure to add protein and a vegetable so it was a balanced plate. No need to spend on fancy grains.
Rice is safe but because of my sugar levels I had to control the quantity and switch some meals to brown rice. If your reports are normal you dont need to worry like me. Just keep portions sensible.
