Im in my second trimester and craving sabudana khichdi a lot these days. MIL makes it often but i wasnt sure if its actually good for the baby or just empty carbs. Anyone know?
Sabudana is good for quick energy, I ate khichdi often during fasting days. Just balance it with some protein and veggies since it is mostly carbs. In moderation it is totally fine.
We make sabudana kheer and vada at home and I had it sometimes. Amma said it gives strength during weakness. It was fine for me, just dont eat it in huge amounts daily.
I had to be careful because sabudana spikes sugar fast for me. If you have any sugar issue keep the portion small and pair it with curd or peanuts. Otherwise for most it is a nice light food, but check with doctor if unsure.
