I use a face wash with salicylic acid for my acne and just found out im 6 weeks pregnant. Now confused whether to continue or stop it. Will ask my doc also but wanted to know if anyone else stopped using it during pregnancy?
Oh my god, skin goes crazy with twins, but safety first! Low-dose topical salicylic wash (under 2%) is technically okay, but I didn't want to take any chances. I switched to safe, natural moisturizers.
I totally understand how frustrating these skin changes can be during this beautiful time. Just remember your body is doing something amazing right now! Try to avoid salicylic acid for now and ask your doctor for gentle, baby-safe options.
Honestly, I looked like a teenager going through puberty with all those pregnancy pimples! But my doctor said to avoid high-dose salicylic acid. I just learned to accept my gorgeous glow... which was actually just oil, haha!
After such a long journey to conceive, I was extremely cautious with everything. I actually stopped using salicylic acid altogether just to be absolutely safe. Please ask your gynac or dermatologist before using any active skincare ingredients, dear.
Skin absorption can happen, so you have to be very careful with what you apply. Definitely check with your gynac before using any salicylic acid products. They will tell you exactly what is safe for your baby.
I completely stopped using any harsh skincare and stuck to basic gentle face washes during pregnancy. My gynac allowed me simple prenatal yoga, but she said to strictly avoid salicylic acid peels or heavy serums.
