My gynac has asked for couple of scans this trimester and my MIL keeps saying too many scans are not good for baby. Now im confused na. Just want to know if its actually safe to do.
Scans are safe, they're done in every normal pregnancy to check baby growth. Dont avoid them out of fear, they are actually important. Just go for the ones your doctor recommends, no need for extra ones.
I was also nervous about too many scans, kept thinking will it harm baby. My gynac reassured me it's safe and routine. Did others also have this worry in the beginning?
Dont worry beta, ultrasound is one of the safest tests in pregnancy. It's not like x-ray. The scans help your doctor make sure everything is going well.
My doctor explained ultrasound uses sound waves not radiation, so it's considered safe and they only do it when needed. I had 3-4 scans through my pregnancy as advised. It actually gave me peace of mind to see baby.
