Bit shy to ask this but we are both confused. Im in 2nd trimester and feeling fine, but dont know if its safe or actually helpful in any way. Can someone pls share what your doc told you?
If you have a normal, low-risk pregnancy, sex is absolutely fine and safe. The baby is well protected by the amniotic sac. Just avoid it in the first trimester if you have spotting, and always confirm with your gynac once.
In a healthy pregnancy without complications, it is perfectly fine. But since every body and hormone level is different, it is best to ask your gynac during your routine thyroid or blood checkup just to be 100% sure.
I completely understand why you might feel anxious about this, I was terrified of hurting the baby! But physically, the baby is extremely safe inside. Just talk openly with your partner and don't force yourself if you are not feeling up to it.
Honestly, we are also very confused about this! My doctor said it's totally safe if there are no complications, but I still feel a bit hesitant. Do other couples also feel this awkwardness in the second trimester?
Most health trackers show that intimacy is actually good for pelvic floor muscles and reduces stress, provided there is no placenta previa or history of preterm labor. Just use comfortable positions and consult your doctor to clear any doubts.
