Is shea butter good for stretch marks during pregnancy?
I'm trying to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy. I've heard about shea butter; is it effective and safe to use for stretch marks during this time? Please share your experiences.
I'm currently using coconut oil but planning to buy shea butter. Does it really help with the tight, itchy feeling? Let me know which brand you all are using.
Honestly, stretch marks are mostly genetic, but keeping the skin hydrated helps with the itching. Shea butter is great for moisturization, but don't expect it to magically erase everything. Just buy a pure organic one and apply twice daily.
I was so worried about chemical ingredients in creams, so I researched a lot about shea butter. It is safe, but I kept checking the label for added perfumes. Definitely try a tiny patch test first just to be absolutely sure your skin doesn't react.
When my belly started growing, I felt so conscious about the stretch marks appearing. I started massaging with organic shea butter every night and it felt so therapeutic connecting with my baby. It kept my skin soft and itchy-free.
I am in my second trimester and my stomach has started itching like crazy. Is shea butter safe to use daily, or should I ask my doctor for a specific cream? I'm so worried about getting dark stretch marks.
In our home, we usually use pure coconut oil for skin. But my doctor said shea butter is also excellent for dryness. I used a mix of both and it really helped calm the stretching skin.
I used everything from shea butter to expensive bio-oils when I was pregnant! Now looking at my toddler, those faint marks on my belly just remind me of the beautiful journey. Don't stress too much about them, they fade over time anyway.
