Im in my second trimester and honestly i just want to sleep all the time, like 10-11 hrs at night and still a nap in afternoon. MIL keeps saying too much sleep is not good for baby. Is it actually bad or is this normal tiredness?
Sleep is good, but I balance it with a short walk daily since my doctor allowed it. A little movement keeps me from feeling too sluggish. As long as you stay a bit active, extra sleep is no problem at all.
If sleeping too much was bad, I'd be in serious trouble right now haha. Honestly the tiredness is real, your body is literally building a human. Rest when you can, you'll miss it once baby comes.
I sleep so much these days and started worrying if it's wrong. Did anyone else feel this sleepy and it was totally fine? Reading these replies is making me feel better honestly.
Extra sleep is generally fine and even needed in pregnancy. Just don't stay flat on your back for long in later months, side sleeping is better. If you feel oddly heavy and breathless though, mention it to your doctor.
No yaar, your body is doing a lot of work so extra sleep is normal, especially first trimester. I slept like a log in both pregnancies. Just try to walk a little and change positions, that's enough.
My mother kept saying sleep well now, baby is growing, and she was right. I rested plenty and my pregnancy was smooth. Just keep moving a little during the day, and ask your doc if anything feels off.
