I was checking the label on a packaged drink and saw this listed, and now im worried because i've been having packaged stuff sometimes. Trying to be more careful with ingredients this trimester. Does anyone know if its something to avoid?
Its in tons of packaged stuff and the regulated amounts are considered safe, so dont panic over one packet. I just didnt make those foods my daily diet during pregnancy. More cooked fresh meals is the simple rule.
Im no expert on chemicals so I cant really say. What I personally did was just eat mostly home cooked and limit packaged drinks and snacks. If ur really concerned about something specific, your doctor can guide u better.
Its a common preservative in packaged foods and small amounts are generally considered fine. That said, in pregnancy I just tried to eat more fresh home food and fewer packaged things overall. If u have a specific worry, ask ur gynac.
I read up on this on a couple of pregnancy apps. Its allowed in foods within limits, so the tiny amounts in normal eating arent a concern. I still cut back on sodas n packaged juices mostly, just felt better eating fresh.
