Im about 7 weeks and my mom keeps making palak in everything saying its full of iron. I do like it but somebody told me too much green leafy stuff in early pregnancy is not good na. Anyone know if its actually fine to eat daily?
Spinach is one of the top folate foods actually, my app kept showing it in the first trimester list. Cook it though, raw leafy stuff can carry germs. Pair it with something vitamin C like lemon so iron absorbs better.
Yes palak is really good, lots of iron and folate which is exactly what u need early on. Just wash it properly and cook it well, dont eat raw. I had it 2-3 times a week both pregnancies.
Beta palak is very good for blood, we always gave it to pregnant girls in our home. Just make sure it is washed in clean water nicely, mud stays in the leaves. Sabji or soup both fine.
Spinach is great and it doesnt spike sugar so it was a safe veg for me. Just cook properly. If u have any specific condition like iron tablets already, mention to ur gynac so it all balances out.
We make palak dal and keerai at home often, it kept my iron decent throughout. My amma always said green leafy is good for the baby. But dont overdo, balanced thali is the real thing.
