I usually do a lot of squats as part of my exercise routine. Now I'm in my early pregnancy, and I'm not sure if it's safe to continue squatting. Can I still do squats, or should I avoid them in the first trimester?
When I was staying at my mom's place during my early months, she always told me to take things very easy. Unless your doctor specifically says it's fine, avoid squatting or lifting heavy things.
Oh god, I was so scared of even bending down in my first trimester! Personally, I avoided deep squats altogether because of my constant worry. Better to ask your doctor to be absolutely sure.
Squatting is generally okay if your doctor has cleared you, but keep your energy up. I had gestational diabetes so my workout plans were strictly designed by my doctor. Ask your gynac first.
In our house, my MIL and mother always encouraged doing normal household work but told me to avoid deep heavy squats early on. They said let the pregnancy settle first.
Before starting any physical routines like squats, please check with your gynac in your next routine scan. It's better to get their clearance than running for emergency scans which cost a bomb.
