I love hummus and often buy it from the store, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm second-guessing everything I eat. Is store-bought hummus generally considered safe to consume?
I would suggest avoiding store-bought ones because pre-packaged cold dips can sometimes have bacteria like listeria, which is risky. Please consult your gynac before consuming store-bought cold items.
Actually yaar, store-bought hummus is fine if it’s fresh, but I avoided it because of the risk of food poisoning. Just make it at home, it takes 10 mins and tastes much better!
I completely understand those sudden cravings for hummus! Just make sure the store-bought one is from a hygienic brand and well within expiry date, or better, ask your hubby to make it fresh.
I love hummus as a healthy high-protein snack after my light prenatal walks. But I always prefer making it at home rather than buying packaged ones to avoid preservatives, if doctor allowed.
Having PCOS made me super cautious about food, and honestly, store-bought hummus can carry bacteria risk if not fresh. It is much safer to make fresh hummus at home with boiled chana to be safe.
Store-bought ones can be expensive and might not be very fresh. It’s so easy to make fresh hummus at home with pressure-cooked kabuli chana, which is much healthier.
