My throat is killing me since 2 days and i usually just pop a strepsils. Now im 14 weeks so not sure agar safe hai ya not. Dont want to take anything without checking, anyone asked their gynac about this?
Actually, most doctors suggest avoiding Strepsils during pregnancy because they contain active ingredients that might not be fully safe. It's always best to send a quick message to your gynac before popping any lozenge. For now, try warm ginger water or herbal tea to soothe your throat.
Managing twin pregnancy with a sore throat was a nightmare, and let me tell you, my doctor strictly said no to Strepsils! Apparently, some of those lozenges have ingredients we should avoid. Do yourself a favor and call your clinic to ask for a safe pregnancy alternative.
Beta, better not to take these medicines without asking your doctor first. When I had a bad throat during my pregnancy, my gynac told me to avoid Strepsils. Instead, I did warm water gargles with a little salt, and it gave me so much relief.
Haan na, throat infection during pregnancy is very troubling. But please don't take Strepsils directly without asking your doc, it is not recommended. Just stick to warm ginger-tulsi tea or warm water gargles for now, ho na.
Honestly, I always avoid medicines unless absolutely necessary. Instead of Strepsils, try drinking warm water with honey and lemon, or doing haldi-namak gargles 3 times a day. If your throat pain is very severe or you get a high fever, please consult your doctor immediately.
I completely feel your pain, having a sore throat during pregnancy is the absolute worst because you feel so helpless. I remember wanting to take a Strepsils so badly but my doctor advised against over-the-counter lozenges. Please ask your gynac first before taking any such tablets.
I was just reading about this yesterday while planning my pregnancy, and I found out that we have to be so careful with normal things like Strepsils! It's crazy how many everyday meds are off-limits. Have you tried asking your gynac for a safe prescription yet?
