Sudden weight gain is not really an early pregnancy sign, that comes much later as baby grows. Early on it is more bloating and water retention than actual weight. Take a test if your period is missed, that is the real answer.
One thing, if you are already pregnant and notice very sudden weight gain with swelling in hands or face, please tell your gynac, that needs checking. But as an early sign of pregnancy, it is not dependable. Better to confirm with a test.
My doctor explained early on it is usually bloating, not real weight gain, the actual gain picks up in the second trimester. So sudden weight alone isn't a reliable sign. A test or scan confirms pregnancy, nothing else.
Don't stress too much over the scale yaar, early bloating fools everyone. If your period is late just pick up a kit. That will tell you more than guessing.
With my PCOS I gained weight for many reasons, so I never read too much into it as a pregnancy sign. It can be hormonal or many things. Best to do a proper test and check with your gynac rather than guessing.
I felt bloated and heavier very early and kept wondering if it meant pregnancy. Did anyone else feel that before testing? I finally just did a kit to be sure.
