I used to do surya namaskar every morning before and i miss it. Now im in first trimester and not sure if its safe to continue all those positions. Did any of you keep doing it? pls share.
Staying active is amazing, but Surya Namaskar has a flow that needs proper modifications for pregnancy. I did prenatal yoga, but only after getting a clear go-ahead from my doctor and under the guidance of a specialist. Your body produces relaxin, making ligaments looser, so overstretching can be risky. Always check with your gynac first!
That's a great question, it shows you're being mindful. With my PCOS history, I was extra cautious about everything. While yoga is generally good, Surya Namaskar involves some deep stretches and inversions. Please, please get your doctor's clearance first and ideally work with a certified prenatal yoga expert. Don't push yourself at all.
Surya Namaskar is wonderful! I practiced some form of yoga throughout my pregnancy and had a very smooth normal delivery. However, it's super important to modify it for pregnancy. Certain poses need to be avoided or changed as your belly grows. Best to consult a prenatal yoga instructor or your doctor first.
Oh, I totally understand wanting to stay active and connected to your body during pregnancy! It's such a beautiful journey. Surya Namaskar is powerful, but during pregnancy, modifications are essential. Your body is changing so much. Please, for your peace of mind and the baby's safety, speak to your gynac and a prenatal yoga teacher who can guide you gently.
My saas used to say 'beta, pet mein bachha hai, zyada uchhal kood mat karo.' While Surya Namaskar is good, during pregnancy, especially later trimesters, some poses might not be comfortable or safe. Better to stick to light walks and gentle stretches that your doctor or a prenatal expert recommends.
