My gynac told me to take the tdap shot now that im in my 7th month, but my MIL keeps saying why inject anything during pregnancy. Im a bit confused honestly, did anyone here take it without any issue? Just want to feel okay before i go for it.
I felt nervous before taking it honestly, but my doctor reassured me it's normal and protects the baby. I just had a slightly sore arm after, nothing else. So glad I trusted her on this.
Yes, my gynac gave me Tdap in the third trimester, she said it protects the baby from whooping cough after birth too. It's a routinely recommended vaccine in pregnancy. She had me take it around the seventh month.
From what I understood it's considered safe and even advised during pregnancy, usually in the later months. But timing and your own history matter, so let your doctor decide the right week. I just followed my gynac's schedule and it was fine.
