Holi is coming and everyone is making thandai at home. I am craving it but not sure about all the ingredients and cooling effect. Did anyone drink homemade thandai while pregnant?
I love thandai but during my GD phase doc told me to skip it, sugar was just too high. If your sugars are normal a small glass occasionally should be fine, but ask your doctor to be safe.
Thandai is fine if it's homemade with just badam, milk, saunf, kesar etc. The thing to avoid is bhang, some shops add it during holi season. So pls confirm it's the plain one before drinking.
Beta in our home we always made thandai with almonds, fennel and a little kesar, it's actually cooling for the body in summer. Just keep the sugar in check and make sure milk is properly boiled. No bhang at all when expecting.
We had it sometimes at home and amma always said the nuts in it are good. But honestly check with ur gynac once, especially if u have gestational diabetes because it can be quite sweet.
