Holi is coming and everyone at home is making thandai. I am 14 weeks and craving a small glass, but not sure about all the ingredients. Did anyone drink homemade thandai while pregnant?
Ohh i craved thandai so much! Had the homemade plain one occasionally and it was fine for me. Just keep it the regular kind, no intoxicating stuff, and dont go overboard cause its rich. So yum though na.
Plain thandai with milk, almonds, saunf and those nice cooling things is generally fine in small amount beta. But make sure its the version without any bhang, that part is a strict no in pregnancy. And no raw or unpasteurised milk in it.
Haan normal thandai chalega na, bas thodi si. Bhang wali bilkul mat lo, woh safe nahi hai pregnancy mein. Doodh accha pasteurised use karo aur zyada meetha mat karo.
I'd just say watch the sugar, thandai can be quite sweet. I had GD so i was careful with such drinks. The nuts and milk part is okay, but ask your doctor if your sugar levels are being monitored. And of course no bhang version.
The classic milk and nut thandai in moderation is usually okay, just avoid any version with bhang completely. Use pasteurised milk. If ur unsure or have any condition like diabetes, run it by your gynac first to be safe.
