I have hypothyroid since 3 years and now planning a baby. My MIL keeps scaring me that it causes complications. Anyone here went through pregnancy with thyroid, how was it for you?
My doc said uncontrolled thyroid can affect the baby and the pregnancy, thats why they keep checking your TSH. But if its controlled with proper medicine its absolutely okay. Lots of women have thyroid and healthy babies.
Mine came slightly high in first report and I got so worried. Doctor started a small tablet. Did anyone else have this and baby was fine? It really scared me ngl.
It can cause issues if left untreated, like with growth and all, so please take it seriously and never miss the tablet or the repeat tests. Controlled thyroid = no problem mostly. Stay in touch with your doctor.
Dont panic about it. My sister had thyroid both pregnancies and everything was good because she took her tablet regularly and tested on time. Just trust your gynac and stay regular with the medicine.
I had thyroid through my whole pregnancy and honestly it was totally manageable. Doctor just adjusted my dose and made me test every few weeks. Baby was perfectly fine. Just dont skip your follow ups, thats the main thing.
