My reports came and thyroid is slightly high, doc has started me on something. Im a bit worried now about the baby. Just want to know how serious this is, anyone managed thyroid through their pregnancy?
Please take it seriously but dont panic. Untreated thyroid can cause problems, which is why regular testing and medication matter so much. Stay in close touch with your gynac and endocrinologist, follow the dose exactly. Managed properly its totally okay.
I have PCOS and thyroid both, so I get the worry. From my experience, as long as you're monitored and on the right dose it stays under control. Im no expert though, so let your doctor guide the dosing and testing schedule closely.
My doctor said thyroid is common in pregnancy and only risky if left untreated. Once you're on the right medication and monitoring levels every few weeks, both you and baby stay safe. She kept adjusting my dose based on reports. So its not scary if managed well.
I had thyroid through my whole pregnancy and honestly its very manageable. The key is taking your medicine properly and doing regular thyroid blood tests so the doctor can adjust the dose. Uncontrolled thyroid can affect baby, but controlled, its absolutely fine. Just dont skip your follow ups.
Don't be frightened by the word dangerous. So many women have thyroid in pregnancy and have perfectly healthy babies. The whole thing is just regular tablets and timely blood tests. Trust your doctor and stay consistent, you'll be fine.
