I sometimes like tonic water as it feels refreshing but then i read it has quinine or something. Now im not sure if i should continue. Im in my 2nd trimester, anyone checked this with their doc?
Listen, tonic water has quinine which is not recommended during pregnancy. Don't take unnecessary risks just for a fancy drink. Drink coconut water or fresh lime soda instead.
It's best to avoid tonic water as it contains chemicals like quinine which aren't safe. Instead, try making fresh ginger-lemon water at home for that refreshing feel. If you are having severe stomach issues, please ask your doctor first.
I always tell moms to steer clear of tonic water. The quinine content isn't safe for the baby in large amounts. If you are craving a fizzy drink, just have ginger ale or normal sparkling water.
Since I had a loss before, I became extremely cautious about everything, including drinks. Tonic water contains quinine, which can be risky for the baby, so I completely avoided it. Please be safe and skip it, or check with your doctor first.
I know we crave all sorts of fizzy drinks, but tonic water is a no-no due to quinine. I satisfied my carbonation cravings by mixing fruit juices with plain soda. It tastes much better and is totally safe!
