Been having terrible pain in one molar and the dentist is saying it might need to be removed. Im in my second trimester. Bit nervous about getting it done right now, has anyone gone through this during pregnancy? pls share.
When I had a tooth problem, both my dentist and gynac coordinated, and they told me the second trimester is usually the safer time for dental work. They were careful about which medicines and what kind of anesthesia. So it can be done, but with proper medical guidance.
My MIL was so against any dental work during pregnancy, kept saying wait till after. But my dentist said an infected tooth is worse for me and baby than treating it. So I told my doctor first and got it sorted safely.
I can only share what I did, I told both my dentist and gynac about my pregnancy before anything. They decided together what was safe. I really wouldn't get any extraction done without informing both doctors.
