Im 14 weeks and suddenly craving tuna sandwich like crazy. But i keep reading mixed things about fish and mercury so now im confused. Pls share if any of u ate it during pregnancy.
My gynac said tuna is fine but in limited amount because of mercury. She told me to keep it like once a week max and prefer the smaller fish options. So not banned, just dont eat it daily.
Tuna ok hai but in moderation. The concern is mercury so dont go overboard. Honestly during both my pregnancies I just stuck to small portions occasionally and it was fine.
Better to ask ur doctor about quantity because every pregnancy is different. With fish the main thing is mercury level, so canned tuna in small amount once in a while should be ok, but pls confirm with ur gynac.
We eat a lot of fish at home and amma always said go for fresh smaller fish during pregnancy. Tuna is fine occasionally but I checked with my doctor about limit. Best you ask urs also na, just to be safe.
I used to keep canned tuna for quick lunches but during pregnancy I cut it down a lot. Just have it occasionally and make sure its cooked properly, not raw. Raw fish is a no for sure.
