My MIL keeps saying too many scans are not good and we should avoid. But my doctor has scheduled a few during these months. Now im confused whether all of them are really needed. what was your experience, how many scans did you have?
Yes, my doctor said the key scans like dating and the anomaly scan are important to check the baby's growth and development. They catch issues early when they can be managed. The recommended ones are definitely worth doing.
The standard scans are necessary, they monitor the baby and the placenta and your dates. Dont skip the important ones like the 20 week anomaly scan. Your doctor will tell you which and when.
They do cost a bit but the main scans are genuinely important, dont cut those out. I asked the hospital for the list so I could plan the expenses. Skipping the essential ones to save money isnt worth the risk.
