Period is delayed by 4 days and im feeling this dull pain in my upper tummy area, not the usual cramps I get. Im hoping it could be a good sign. Has anyone felt this early on?
I get upper stomach twinges sometimes and panic a bit, mine turned out to be gas mostly. Did anyone else feel this? My doc said it's common but told me to call if it's sharp or doesn't go away.
When I had bad nausea I also got upper tummy burning, but that was more the acidity from vomiting than a pregnancy sign itself. Small frequent meals helped me. If the pain is bad though, dont tough it out, ring ur gynac.
Be a little careful here. Mild upper tummy discomfort can be acidity, but strong or persistent upper stomach pain, especially in later pregnancy, should always be checked by a doctor as it can mean other things. Please don't ignore severe pain.
My doctor said classic early signs are missed period, tender breasts, nausea and fatigue, not upper abdominal pain. Upper pain is usually digestive. She added that any severe or one-sided pain needs a check to rule out other causes. So I'd test for pregnancy and treat the pain as a separate thing.
Upper stomach pain is not really a typical early pregnancy sign. Early on it's more mild cramps low down, nausea and missed period. Upper tummy ache is usually gas or acidity. If you're wondering about pregnancy, just take a test.
