Is virgin coconut oil good lubricant when trying to conceive?
We are ttc and some normal lubricants are not recommended apparently. Read somewhere that coconut oil is safer, is it actually true? bit confused so wanted to ask others trying like me.
When I was staying with my parents, mummy always suggested coconut oil for all skin issues, but for conceiving, it's a different thing. It can interfere with the natural environment down there. Do check with your doctor once, they will suggest what is safe for your journey.
Virgin coconut oil is great for dry skin, but when trying to conceive, it might act as a barrier for sperm. My gynac actually advised me to avoid any home remedies or oils during our active trying days. She only allowed me to do gentle yoga and daily walking to keep my blood circulation good.
Honestly, my baby keeps me so awake that lubricant is the last thing on my mind, haha. But when we were trying, our doctor said to avoid regular oils like coconut oil because they can slow down the sperm. Ask your gynac for a baby-friendly option, they have specific ones for this!
Oh, I would be very careful using anything because even natural oils like coconut oil might affect sperm motility or change vaginal pH. I spent hours reading about this and got so anxious. It is best to ask your doctor for a certified sperm-friendly lubricant just to be totally safe.
Dear, although coconut oil is natural, it's not ideal when you are actively trying to conceive. It can create a thick layer that makes it hard for sperm to swim to the egg. Please talk to your gynac and get a proper fertility-friendly lubricant.
I totally understand how stressful the trying-to-conceive phase can be, and we look for any little help. But please be careful with coconut oil, as it might block the sperm from reaching its destination. Sending you so much love and hoping you get your good news very soon!
