Keep seeing kegels mentioned in pregnancy reels and groups but i honestly dont know what they are or how to do them. Are they helpful for delivery? someone pls explain simply.
I added kegels along with my daily walk and prenatal yoga after my gynac okayed it. Theyre basically pelvic floor squeezes, low effort, big payoff for delivery and post delivery. Just confirm with ur doctor that all your exercises are fine for your case.
Kegels are just squeezing and releasing the pelvic floor muscles, the ones u use to stop pee midstream. They help with delivery and prevent that leaking-when-u-sneeze thing later. Do a few sets through the day, easy to do anywhere. Helped me a lot postpartum.
My doctor explained kegels strengthen the pelvic floor which supports the bladder and uterus. She had me tighten those muscles for a few seconds, release, repeat about 10 times, a few rounds a day. She said do them correctly without holding ur breath, and they really help recovery and bladder control after birth.
I did kegels through pregnancy and gently restarted after my C-section once my doctor said okay. They really help the pelvic area regain strength. Just go slow post surgery and only resume when ur cleared. Worth doing.
