What are the benefits of drinking milk during pregnancy?
Everyone keeps pushing me to drink milk twice a day but honestly I never liked it much. I'm 4 months now. Just want to understand what it actually does for the baby so I can make myself drink it. Is plain milk enough or do I need to add something?
Beta, doodh is so good for the baby's bones and your strength. In our family we always gave haldi doodh at night, it helps sleep too. Just dont add too much sugar and you're golden.
Milk is honestly one of the cheapest ways to get calcium and protein, no need for fancy supplements if you tolerate it well. One or two glasses a day did the job for me. Curd and paneer also from the same milk, value for money.
Doodh helped me a lot, mostly with calcium and feeling full and strong. I used to take it warm with a little elaichi. If your stomach feels heavy with milk, curd works just as well, my amma always said that.
My gynac said milk is great for calcium, protein, vitamin D and B12, all important for the baby's growth and my bone health. She told me 2 glasses a day was enough and I didnt need to overdo it. If lactose troubles you, ask for alternatives.
Milk gives you calcium and protein which baby needs for bones, and it kept my energy steady. I had a glass twice a day. If milk gives you gas or you dont like it, dahi, paneer and cheese also do the same job.
