What are the food items to avoid during pregnancy?
Just found out im pregnant, around 6 weeks. Im getting a lot of conflicting advice from everyone at home about kya khana hai kya nahi. Can someone share a clear list of foods to actually avoid?
Commonly, doctors advise avoiding raw or undercooked meats, certain types of fish high in mercury, unpasteurized dairy, and raw eggs. Also, be careful with street food and anything that isn't freshly prepared. If you have any specific food concerns or allergies, always consult your gynac for personalized advice.
OMG, the list of 'don'ts' is so long, it makes me so anxious sometimes! I'm in my second trimester and I keep double-checking everything. I'm avoiding raw fish, soft cheeses, and anything unpasteurized. Also strictly no alcohol or smoking. Did anyone else feel this overwhelmed by the food rules?
It feels like a never-ending list, doesn't it? I remember feeling so restricted with food during my pregnancy. But it's all worth it when you hold your baby. Just avoid raw stuff, unpasteurised items, and street food. Take care and remember, these few months of restrictions are temporary.
Please be very, very careful with everything you eat. After my miscarriage, I was extremely strict. Avoid anything raw or undercooked – meats, eggs, fish. No unpasteurized dairy, soft cheeses, or deli meats. Also, wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly. It might seem like a lot, but it’s crucial for the baby’s safety.
Hahaha, basically everything delicious seems to be on the 'avoid' list! But seriously, no raw meat, no raw eggs (bye bye half-boiled omelette), no unpasteurised dairy, and some types of fish. And of course, no alcohol. It feels like a diet challenge sometimes, but it's all for the little one, so we manage!
I've been told no raw eggs like in some desserts, no sushi or undercooked meats, and to limit fish with high mercury. My doctor also said no unpasteurized milk products and to be super careful with salads outside. It's so much to remember sometimes, but better safe than sorry, right?
