What are the reasons for missing periods other than pregnancy?
My period is late by like 10 days but the test came negative twice. Now im confused what else could be the reason. Stress ya hormones? Anyone experienced this pls tell.
My mother always says extreme stress or changes in diet can delay cycles. But medically, hormone imbalances or cysts can also be the reason. It's best to consult your doctor if it's delayed by more than ten days.
Sometimes your uterus just decides to go on a mini-vacation! Haha. But seriously, stress, too much working out, or hormonal changes can easily delay it.
Thyroid issues are a very common reason for irregular or missed periods. I had this issue and my cycles only became regular after I started my thyroid medication. Do get a simple thyroid test done.
Other than pregnancy, things like PCOS, thyroid issues, sudden weight gain or loss, and high stress are the most common culprits. If you've already taken a home test and it's negative, wait a few days and then see a gynac.
Honestly, even changing your diet suddenly or eating too much junk can sometimes throw off your cycle! But if it's missed, check with a doc just to be sure what's going on.
I totally understand how stressful it is to wait for your period when the test is negative. Sometimes, simple things like high stress, weight changes, or just being tired can delay it. Take care of yourself, dear.
