Just confirmed im pregnant, around 7 weeks. My gynac will guide me but i want to mentally prepare for which scans come at which stage. Can mommies here tell me the usual scans done through the pregnancy?
Mainly four-ish for me both times. Early dating one, NT scan, the big anomaly scan around 20 weeks, and growth scans later. Don't skip the anomaly scan, that one is important.
I'd say note the scan weeks in advance and book leaves accordingly, the anomaly one especially takes time. Main ones are dating, NT, anomaly, growth. Get the schedule from your gynac at the first visit so you can plan work around it.
My doctor scheduled a dating scan early, then the NT scan around 11-13 weeks, the anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks, and a growth scan in the third trimester. Some also get a Doppler near the end. Your gynac decides based on your case.
Standard ones are dating scan, NT scan, anomaly scan and later growth scans. The exact number and timing your gynac will guide, especially if there's any condition. Best to follow their plan rather than a fixed list.
Just a heads up, scans add up cost wise. The dating, NT and anomaly are the main ones, after that growth scans depend on doctor. I asked my gynac upfront how many to expect so I could budget. Some packages include them.
