What are the side effects of aspirin during pregnancy?
My doctor mentioned something about a low dose tablet at my last visit and I think it was aspirin. I forgot to ask her properly about it. Just want to understand what it can do to the body, anyone been told to take it?
I was actually put on low dose aspirin because of my BP history, and it was closely monitored. So it has its uses, but always under supervision. Random use can be harmful, dont take it without your gynac saying so.
Aspirin is sometimes prescribed in pregnancy, like a low dose for certain conditions, but only when a doctor decides. On your own it can cause bleeding issues, so please never self medicate. If you were given it, ask your doctor exactly why and what to watch for.
My doc explained regular dose aspirin is generally avoided as it can affect bleeding and the baby, especially later in pregnancy. The tiny prescribed dose for specific risks is a different thing entirely. Bottom line, only take it if your doctor has prescribed it.
