Im in my 8th month and getting a little anxious about how ill even know when its actually starting. Scared ill confuse normal pains with the real thing. For the mommies whove delivered, how did labour actually feel at the start?
Main signs are regular contractions that increase, water breaking, and sometimes a bloody show or mucus plug. Both my labours started with cramps that wouldnt stop. If water breaks or pains are regular, go to hospital, dont wait.
Please dont wait at home if your water breaks, you bleed, or pains become strong and regular, go straight to the hospital. Also call your doctor if baby movements reduce. Better to reach early than late.
Mine actually didnt progress to full labour, i had contractions then ended up with a C-section. But the early signs i felt were tightening, pressure low down and backache. Keep your bag ready and call your doctor when anything starts.
Just went through this last month! Mine started as period like cramps that slowly turned into proper waves of pain. Lower back was aching badly too. Once they got regular we rushed and baby came that night.
For me it was regular tightening pains that came closer and closer, plus a low backache. The contractions getting stronger was the real giveaway. The moment they became regular we headed to hospital.
My doctor told me to watch for true labour contractions, the ones that come at regular intervals and dont ease with rest, unlike the false Braxton Hicks ones. Also water leaking or a show. She said time the contractions and call when they're around 5 min apart.
