Second trimester now and my appetite is finally back. I want to eat right for the baby but also dont want to overdo. What foods did you all focus on? curious about simple home stuff we can have daily.
I focused on simple home food, rice, dal, lots of vegetables, curd, fruits and a glass of milk daily. My amma added a handful of soaked nuts each morning. Nothing fancy, just balanced, and I checked anything new with my doctor.
My doctor stressed protein like eggs, dal, paneer, plus iron rich greens, calcium from dairy and folate from veggies. She said variety and color on the plate matters more than any single superfood. And keep hydrated through the day.
Eat well but watch the sugary and fried stuff, especially if you have any sugar risk. I had GD so I learnt to balance carbs with protein and lots of veggies. Spread your meals out into small portions, it really helps.
Honestly I ate quite a variety and enjoyed it, fruits, nuts, ghar ka khaana, the works. Just kept the junk for occasional treats. Pregnancy hunger is real yaar, so eat good filling stuff.
