My period is 6 days late and i have nausea, sore breasts, all the signs honestly. But the home test showed negative this morning. Confused na, could i have tested too early or is something else going on? anyone been through this?
Timing is everything with these strips. I used to track my cycle on an app and even then I tested 2 days too soon and got negative, then positive later. Diluted urine also gives false negative so morning pee is best.
If your cycles are irregular like mine (I have pcos), ovulation can be late so the test reads negative even when you might be early pregnant. Honestly best to just see your gynac and get a blood test, its more accurate than strips.
Same confusion happened with me! I got a negative and was so upset, but turned out I miscalculated my dates. Did anyone else have a faint line they almost missed? Sometimes the line is so light na.
Most common reason is you tested too early. The hcg needs few days to build up. Wait till your period is actually late, then test with first morning urine, you'll get a clearer result.
My doctor explained there's something called the hook effect too, very rare, where too much hcg confuses the test. But usually its early testing, expired strip, or too much water before testing. Blood beta hcg test is the reliable one if you're really unsure.
