First pregnancy and I am suddenly confused about every food item. Some days nausea allows only simple dal rice, and then I worry if baby is getting enough. What were your go-to safe foods?
Eat simple homemade food mostly, dal, rice, sabzi, curd, fruits, milk, eggs if u take them. My mother kept it homely and balanced. Take ur iron and calcium that doctor gives. Just wash fruits and veggies well.
Balanced meals are key. I had to watch sugar so I focused on protein and fiber, less sweets and white rice. Everyone is different though, so if u have any condition ask ur doctor for a diet plan.
Aim for variety, protein, iron rich foods, calcium, fruits, veggies and whole grains, plus your prenatal supplements. Avoid alcohol, raw fish/meat and very high mercury fish. Your doctor can fine tune it for you.
Focus on protein (dal, eggs, paneer, chicken), lots of fruits and veggies, dairy and whole grains. Keep drinking water. Avoid raw/undercooked meat and unwashed stuff. Honestly normal balanced ghar ka khana is the best plan.
Eat well and enjoy it too! Loads of fruits, ghar ka khana, dahi, nuts. I gave in to cravings sometimes but kept the bulk healthy. Pregnancy isnt the time to starve, just eat smart.
U dont need fancy expensive stuff yaar. Dal, seasonal fruits, eggs, peanuts, seasonal veggies, milk, all cheap and very nutritious. I ate simple and my reports were great. Save the money for the delivery.
