Just found out im pregnant, around 5 weeks, and honestly i have no clue what all i should be doing or avoiding. First time and my MIL keeps giving advice that confuses me more. Pls share what you actually focused on early on.
Light walking helped me feel better even with tiredness, but I only did what my doctor okayed and skipped anything intense. Folic acid, balanced food and good sleep were my priority. Dont start any new heavy workout in this phase without asking gynac.
Eat tiny bits often, dont keep stomach empty, thats what saved me from constant nausea. Keep some plain biscuits near the bed for morning. Ginger water helped me a little. And dont feel guilty if u cant eat much, just stay hydrated and take your vitamins.
Take rest ma, dont overstrain. Family will give you many dos and donts, listen but follow what your doctor confirms. I ate small frequent home cooked meals, took my folic acid and avoided too much travel early on. Stay calm, it really helps the baby too.
I overthought everything in early weeks, every twinge scared me. Honestly the main things are folic acid, eating well, rest and not stressing. Avoid self medicating. And keep a list of symptoms for your gynac visit, it calmed my mind.
Start your folic acid, eat proper meals even if nausea is bad, sleep well and dont lift heavy stuff. Avoid raw and street food, drink lots of water. And book your first gynac visit early. Simple basics but they matter a lot in first trimester.
