Delivered my baby few weeks ago and im still having bleeding on and off, didnt expect it to last this long. Is this normal after delivery or something to worry about? planning to mention it to my doc but wanted to hear from others who went through it.
After delivery that bleeding is called lochia, its your body healing and clearing out, totally normal for a few weeks. I felt a bit scared by how much it was at first. It slowly reduces, but if it suddenly becomes very heavy or smelly, call your doctor.
Some bleeding after delivery is normal, but heavy bleeding can sometimes be a complication, so please keep an eye on it. I had heavier than usual and my doctor checked me which was important. When in doubt always call them, dont wait.
Even after my C-section I had this bleeding for a few weeks, the doctor said it was expected. Just rest and use proper pads, change them often. If you ever pass big clots or feel feverish, please ring your doctor right away.
