Saw clubfoot mentioned in some article and it kind of scared me. What actually causes it during pregnancy, is it something the mother does or just happens? im 20 weeks and have my scan soon so it's on my mind.
I totally understand why this worries u. A cousins baby was born with clubfoot and after treatment the little one runs around perfectly now. Causes arent always clear but the outcome is usually very good, trust your doctors.
The causes can be genetic or positional and often unknown, nothing the mother does wrong. Its detected on scans and treated effectively after birth. Best to get all your questions answered by your gynac so you have the right picture.
My doctor said clubfoot often has no clear single cause, sometimes its genetic, sometimes the way the foot is positioned. She said its usually picked up on the anomaly scan and is very treatable after birth with casting. So early detection helps a lot.
Its not really something a mom causes, so please dont blame yourself if u are worried about this. If your scan shows anything, a specialist will guide the treatment. The good news is it is correctable. Talk to your doctor for proper info on your case.
From what I read it can be genetic or due to positioning in the womb, and honestly with twins my two were packed in tight in there. Doctors check it on scans. Its treatable so dont panic, but get accurate info from your gynac not random posts.
