What causes dizziness in second trimester of pregnancy?
Im 5 months now and lately i feel thoda chakkar especially when i stand up fast. It comes and goes but makes me a little nervous. Why does this happen at this stage?
Oh, sending you a huge hug, mama. I know how scary it feels when your head starts spinning while you are trying to enjoy your pregnancy. It is very common due to changing hormones, but please let your doctor know about this so they can check your levels.
For me, sudden dizziness was actually a sign of my thyroid levels fluctuating, which is why regular follow-ups are so important. Please don't take it lightly. Call your gynac and get your thyroid and hemoglobin checked as soon as possible.
Look, dizziness in the second trimester is usually due to blood pressure changes or iron levels. But you shouldn't ignore it. Book an appointment with your doctor, get your blood tests done, and make sure your hydration is on track.
Honestly, I felt dizzy last week and realized I hadn't eaten my favorite cheese toast for hours, haha! Low blood sugar can definitely cause it, but since dizziness can be serious, please talk to your gynac and get your BP checked.
I had terrible dizziness around week 18, and my doctor told me it was because of my blood pressure dipping slightly. I cannot give medical advice, but please make sure you mention this to your gynac soon. For now, try to stand up slowly and drink lots of water.
