Every night after dinner i get this horrible burning in my chest and it goes right up to my throat, never had this before pregnancy. Im 7 months now. Why does this suddenly start happening? is it the baby pressing or something else?
Ugh the heartburn was almost as bad as the nausea for me. Its hormones plus baby pushing up on the tummy. Small frequent meals and avoiding too spicy or oily food eased it. Cold milk helped me sometimes too.
Its the hormones relaxing the valve to your stomach plus the growing baby pushing things up, so acid comes back up. Got worse for me in the last trimester. Eat smaller meals, dont lie down right after eating, that helped a lot.
It is the hormones loosening things and the baby growing, dear, so acid rises up. My mother told me to eat light and not sleep flat right after. A glass of cold milk helped me. If it troubles you a lot, ask your gynac for something safe.
Beta it happens because the body softens everything for the baby and the tummy gets crowded. Cold milk or a little saunf after meals soothed many of us. But if its very severe or constant, do tell your doctor, dont just suffer.
My doctor said the hormone progesterone relaxes the muscle that normally keeps stomach acid down, and later the uterus presses up too. Thats the double whammy. She told me to prop up with pillows at night, which actually worked.
