Im in my 2nd trimester and lately my heart feels like its racing even when im just sitting and watching tv. It happens specially after climbing stairs and takes a while to settle. Is this a normal pregnancy thing or should i mention it to my gynac?
For me high heart rate turned out to be thyroid related, so my gynac added a TSH test. Not saying its the same for u, but it can have a reason behind it. Best to mention it at ur next checkup and get the basic tests done.
Mostly its normal pregnancy stuff, but please dont self diagnose. A high heart rate can sometimes mean low iron or BP issues, which is why I'd get it checked properly. Better the doctor sees it than us guessing.
Mine goes up if I'm dehydrated or stand too fast. After my doctor okayed light walking and slow breathing it actually settled. Drink enough water and dont rush around, that helped me a lot.
Honestly your blood volume goes up a lot in pregnancy so the heart works harder, slightly faster heartbeat is normal. Both my pregnancies I felt it. But if its racing with breathlessness or dizziness, get it checked, dont ignore that.
I used to feel my heart pounding and would panic thinking something is wrong. Doc said extra blood and hormones make it faster, totally normal mostly. But she told me if it comes with chest pain or fainting feeling then call immediately, so keep that in mind na.
