I had sharp side pain last night and doctor said they may check for stone if it continues. I am pregnant so it made me more scared. Anyone had kidney stone problem during pregnancy?
My doctor explained that during pregnancy the body changes how it processes calcium and the kidneys work differently, plus less water intake can make stones more likely. Drinking enough water daily was her main advice to me.
Mostly low water intake and the natural body changes in pregnancy bring it on. Keep yourself well hydrated, thats the simplest prevention. But any severe pain or blood in urine, straight to the doctor.
I had a stone scare in my pregnancy and the pain was no joke. Dehydration was a big factor for me. If you are having sharp side or back pain please dont wait, get it checked right away.
Hormonal shifts, slower urine flow and not drinking enough fluids all play a role. Its best discussed with your gynac if you are worried, especially if you have a past history of stones.
