My gynac mentioned spd after i complained about this sharp pain near my pelvis when i walk or turn in bed. Im 28 weeks. Just trying to understand why it happens to some women. anyone here dealt with this?
Its the pregnancy hormones softening the pelvis plus the extra weight. I felt it worse in my second pregnancy. Keep your knees together when getting in and out of bed or car, sounds silly but it really reduced the pain.
Hormones loosening the pelvic joint cause it. Mine got quite bad so the doctor sent me to a physio and it helped a lot. If yours is severe or affecting walking, do tell ur gynac, dont just suffer through it.
SPD is that pelvic pain near the pubic bone. My doctor said its because of the hormone relaxin loosening the pelvic joints, plus the baby's weight, so the joint moves more and hurts. She said its common and manageable, dont think something is broken.
I had this in my third trimester, that sharp pain when turning in bed or walking. Its the pelvic joints getting loose for delivery. A maternity belt and being gentle while moving helped me, and it eased off after baby came.
