My latest blood report showed my thyroid is off and im a bit confused since i never had this issue before. Now wondering if pregnancy itself triggered it somehow. Did this happen to anyone else here?
Pregnancy naturally stresses the thyroid, thats why many get tested for it early. It can be genetic too. Dont worry, its common and treatable. Just take the tablet correctly and get TSH rechecked when doc tells.
I had thyroid in pregnancy and honestly sometimes pregnancy itself changes your hormones and affects the thyroid. Could be existing issue that shows up or develops new. Main thing is regular testing and taking the medicine doc gives on empty stomach. Dont skip follow ups.
My gynac said pregnancy hormones put extra demand on the thyroid gland, so some women develop it or an existing borderline one becomes active. Sometimes its autoimmune or iodine related. They test TSH early and monitor it through pregnancy. Best to ask your doctor your specific cause.
There can be many reasons honestly, hormones, family history, autoimmune stuff. I wouldnt guess too much. The good part is its very manageable with medicine and regular blood tests. Let your gynac figure out the cause for you.
