Im 9 weeks and noticing more white discharge than before, no smell or itching though. It got me a little tense na. is this normal in pregnancy or should I mention to my gynac?
Same here, I am currently in my second trimester and noticed this too! It gets quite heavy sometimes and makes me run to the washroom to check. Does anyone else feel like it increases after walking?
I remember being so worried about this when I was pregnant, but my boy is a toddler now and I realize how common it is. It's just your body's natural way of protecting your baby. Unless it smells bad or itches, don't worry about it at all.
This is caused by increased hormone levels and blood flow to the pelvic area. It is very common, so please don't worry as long as there is no itching or bad smell.
According to my gynac, this thin, milky discharge is perfectly normal and actually protects the birth canal from infections. But my doctor also warned that if it becomes clumpy, green, or starts itching, you must report it immediately as it could be a vaginal infection.
Hormonal changes cause this increased white discharge, which is normal. However, if you have gestational diabetes like I did, you have to be extra careful as high sugar levels can easily lead to yeast infections. Keep your diet low in sugar to avoid infections.
It's just estrogen doing its job to keep the vaginal area clean and prevent infections. Just use cotton panty liners if it gets too annoying, but avoid any scented products. It is a completely standard pregnancy symptom.
I recently delivered my baby and had this throughout my pregnancy! It is called leukorrhea and is caused by increased estrogen and blood flow. As long as it is odorless and clear or milky white, it is completely normal.
It's just your body preparing itself and keeping things clean down there. I had it quite a bit before my normal delivery, and my midwife said it's a good sign of healthy hormones. Stay hydrated and wear breathable cotton underwear.
