My doctor gave me a due date but i want to work out the actual conception date myself, kind of for my own peace of mind. Is there a proper calculator for this? how reliable is it?
I played around with these calculators when we were trying, kind of addictive honestly. They just use cycle dates to guess. Nice for fun but i learnt the real date comes from the doctor's scan.
These calculators usually take your last period date or due date and estimate conception about 2 weeks after your period started. I used one and it was close but not exact. Fun to use but the dating scan is the proper answer.
Most online conception calculators just work backwards from your due date or last period, it's an estimate not a fact. If you genuinely need an accurate date, the early ultrasound is what doctors trust. Calculators are just for curiosity.
I just put my last period date into one of these calculators and it gave a rough conception window in seconds. Handy for a quick idea. But don't take it as gospel, the scan gave me a different date by a few days.
