What do you call a doctor who specializes in pregnancy?
Sorry might be a silly question but im a bit confused. Everyone keeps saying gynac but I read some other name also somewhere. Which doctor exactly do I go to for my whole pregnancy? first time so dont know much.
Oh, that's such a lovely question! The doctor who specializes in pregnancy and childbirth is called an Obstetrician, or often an OB/GYN. They become such an important part of your journey, guiding you and making sure everything is healthy for you and your precious baby. It's a very special relationship.
The medical term is an Obstetrician, or if they also specialise in women's health in general, they're an OB/GYN. My pregnancy app actually has a section explaining all the different specialists you might meet during this time. It's good to know who's who!
Haha, you call them your new best friend for the next nine months! But seriously, they're called an Obstetrician, or often just an OB/GYN. They're basically your guide through this crazy, beautiful journey. Don't worry, you'll get to know them very well!
That would be an Obstetrician, or a Gynaecologist/Obstetrician (OB/GYN). They are the main doctors who will be looking after you throughout your pregnancy. It's really important to have regular check-ups with them, especially if you have any other conditions like I had with my thyroid.
After just going through it, I can tell you it's an Obstetrician! Most of us just say 'my gynac' or 'my OB' actually, because they often handle both. They'll be the one you see for all your check-ups, scans, and delivery. It's good to start looking for one you like early on.
Hey! So, the doc who takes care of you during pregnancy is called an Obstetrician. Usually, they're also a Gynaecologist, so people say OB/GYN. Just find one you're comfortable with, that's super important. Don't stress too much about the terms, you got this!
