My doctor mentioned something about 'dilation' during my last check-up, and I'm not entirely sure what it implies. Could someone please explain what it means to be 'dilated' in the context of pregnancy?
It is basically the opening of your cervix. But please check with your doctor regularly. If you feel sudden pain or leaking before your due date, call your gynac immediately because early dilation needs doctor's attention.
It is the cervix opening up for labor. Since I had gestational diabetes, I had to keep my diet strictly controlled even when waiting for labor and checks. Eat healthy and stay in close touch with your gynac.
Yes, it means cervix opening. I had thyroid issues so I was super careful and went for regular doctor follow-ups where my gynac monitored everything closely. Just keep up with your checkups.
Dilated means the cervix (baby house gate!) is opening up for delivery! 🌸 Usually doc checks this in the 9th month. When it reaches 10cm, then baby is ready to say hello to the world! 🎉
Dilated means the mouth of the uterus is opening. Near labor it stretches up to 10 cm. If you are in your 9th month, doc will check this during internal exams to see how close you are to labor.
