My gynac asked me to get a doppler done next visit and i didnt fully understand what it checks. Im 30 weeks now. Can someone explain what this test actually shows about the baby? thoda nervous about why she suggested it.
I was so scared when my gynac wrote doppler on the slip, thought something is wrong. But she said its just a closer look at baby's blood flow. Did anyone else also get worried for no reason?
Its basically a scan that measures how blood is flowing to baby and through cord. Usually they do it if baby's growth is slow or if u have BP issues. Nothing scary, its painless like a normal sonography.
My doc explained it checks blood flow, mainly through the umbilical cord and to the baby. They use it to see if baby is getting enough oxygen and nutrients, and sometimes to check the placenta. I had one in third tri.
I had doppler done because my baby's growth was on lower side. It told them the blood flow was ok which was such a relief. If ur doctor suggested it, just go for it and let them read the report, dont google the numbers and panic.
