I keep hearing this word full term everywhere, in my pregnancy app, from relatives, but nobody really explains it. Im in my third tri now so it feels relevant. what week does a baby actually count as full term?
Basically it means the baby has cooked long enough to be safely born, around 37 weeks onwards. Mine arrived at 39 and was perfectly fine. Its just the safe zone for delivery.
My doc explained full term means baby is fully developed and ready, generally 39 to 40 weeks. 37 to 38 is early term and they like baby to stay till 39 if everything is fine. Those last weeks really help the lungs mature.
